What is the job of the assessor

Assessors are employed by skills development service providers to evaluate unit standards and qualifications that are registered on the NQF. Skills development companies can include organisations that offer training to their employees in the work environment. Assessors and moderators can either work as staff members of skills development companies, or they can work as independent professionals.

In the context of education, an assessor identifies whether a student is competent in relation to the criteria or outcomes for a specific unit standard or qualification on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF).
